Syria: Saudi military reportedly bombs Iranian militia positions in Deir al-Zor September 17

Media reports indicate that the Saudi military carried out a bombing raid in Al-Bukamal (Deir al-Zor province) on Tuesday, September 17. The attacks reportedly targeted Iranian militia positions and resulted in an unspecified number of casualties. The operation comes in apparent retaliation for attacks on oil fields in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province on Saturday, September 14, that some have alleged to have been linked to Iran.

Similar Saudi airstrikes on Iranian militia positions are possible in Syria over the coming hours and days.
