Cities across Tunisia experienced flash flooding throughout the night (local time) of Tuesday, September 10, following sudden torrential rainfall on Tuesday afternoon. Floodwaters were as high as 1 m (3.3 ft) in Tunis, where one woman was found dead after being shocked by an electrical pole. Severe traffic disruptions were also reported in Tunis late on Tuesday as a result of heavy rain and flooding.
Residual disruptions, including road closures and transportation delays, are expected over the coming days.
