Mombasa county will host celebrations for Kenya's Mashujaa Day (National Heroes' Day) on Sunday, October 20. More than 40,000 spectators are expected to gather in Mama Ngina Park in Mombasa on Sunday to watch the Kenya Navy conduct a military ocean parade. Related events and gatherings are expected to take place across Mombasa county over the coming days.

A heightened security presence and business and transportation disruptions, including traffic congestion and road closures, are to be expected throughout Mombasa county during the holiday.
