The event will be held at the Mohanagar Natya Mancha to commemorate “National Revolution and Solidarity Day.” Initially, the BNP had applied to hold three events in Dhaka on Thursday, November 7, but police officials are only allowing one rally on Friday.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are anticipated around the rally site.

Context

The BNP celebrates National Revolution and Solidarity Day annually on November 7 to commemorate the uprising of civilians and soldiers in 1975 the ended a three-day coup. November 7 was previously a national holiday until 2007 when a caretaker government scrapped it as a holiday.
