Car bomb detonates outside of a police station in Santander de Quilichao (Cauca department) on November 22, killing at least three people; investigation ongoing

A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) detonated outside of the police station in Santander de Quilichao (Cauca department) on the evening (local time) of Friday, November 22. The bomb exploded around 20:45, killing at least three people and wounding another ten. Local officials implemented a curfew at 23:30 and military and police personnel deployed to the area. According to the authorities, the attack is believed to have been carried out by criminals and is not related to the ongoing protests throughout the country.
