Latin America: Protests scheduled throughout the region to commemorate Labor Day May 1

Activists, including labor leaders and union members, plan to hold protests and marches in multiple countries throughout Latin America May 1 to commemorate Labor Day. While demands vary, most are asking for improved salaries and working conditions.

• Bogota, Colombia: Marches from Avenida Primero de Mayo, Universidad Nacional, Parque Nacional, and Planetario Distrital, all converging in Plaza de Bolivar, starting at 08:30

• Cali, Colombia: March from Parque Obrero to Puerto Resistenia, starting at 08:00
