Indonesia: Ongoing rolling blackouts on Lombok Island November 12

Indonesia’s state-owned power company, PLN, is implementing rolling blackouts on Lombok Island as of Tuesday, November 12. According to PLN, the policy was put in place due to a decrease in production capacity and an increase in peak loads. The drop in capacity has reportedly been caused by maintenance works and the prolonged dry season, which is affecting PLN micro-hydro plants in North and East Lombok. Rolling blackouts are expected to continue through the month of December.
