Kenya: Silverstone Air suspends all flights as of November 12

Silverstone Air suspends all flights as of November 12 amid safety concerns

Warning

Event

Kenya's Silverstone Air temporarily suspended all flights as of Tuesday, November 12, following a directive issued by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) on Tuesday ordering the airline to ground its Dash 8 fleet. The decision comes amid safety concerns following recent incidents, including one on October 28 in which a Silverstone aircraft lost a wheel during takeoff and was forced to make an emergency landing. Silverstone Air has not released details regarding how long the temporary suspension of operations will last.

Flight cancelations are to be expected over the coming days and weeks.

Advice

Individuals traveling with Silverstone Air are advised to maintain flexible itineraries and to contact the airline for additional information.
