Tropical Depression Ramon triggers tropical cyclone wind signal N°1 in Eastern, Northern Samar November 12; moderate to heavy rain and associated flash-floods expected

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that a Low Pressure Area (LPA) near Bicol has strengthened into Tropical Depression Ramon in the morning (local time) on Tuesday, November 12. According to PAGASA, Ramon may strengthen into a tropical storm within the next 48 hours. A tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) N°1 has been issued on the afternoon of Tuesday for Eastern and Northern Samar.
Light to moderate rain, with occasional heavy rain, is forecast in the region of Bicol, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Romblon, Marinduque, and Southern Quezon on Wednesday, November 13. Associated flash-floods, landslides, and other disruptions may occur.
As of 16:00 on Tuesday, Ramon was located approximately 670 km (416 mi) east of Borogan City (Eastern Samar), and moving westward with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph (34 mph).
