Warning

Event

The Philippine meteorology agency, PAGASA, forecasts Tropical Storm Ramon to impact Luzon between Sunday, November 17, through Thursday, November 21. At 04:00 (local time) on Sunday, Ramon was located at approximately 16.3°N 126.0°E and moving slowly in a northwest direction. The storm has maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kph (40 mph) near the center.

PAGASA forecasts light to moderate rain, with occasional heavy rain, in the Bicol and Quezon regions and in the eastern parts of Isabela and Cagayan from Monday, November 18. Associated flash-floods, landslides, and other disruptions may occur.

Ramon prompted domestic flight cancelations on Friday, November 15, and on Saturday, November 16, notably in Manilla, Basco, and Naga. Further transportation disruptions are likely in the coming days.

Advice

Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, confirm road conditions and flight reservations before setting out, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
