Typhoon Kammuri has formed in the Philippine Sea and is forecast to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1. According to the Philippine meteorology agency, PAGASA, the typhoon will be named Tisoy after it enters the PAR. Scattered rains and thunderstorms from the storm are expected to begin hitting Bicol region and Eastern Visayas starting on Monday, December 2. Disruptions to maritime travel off the eastern coast may occur in the coming days. Associated flooding and other transportation disruptions are possible.
As of 10:00 (local time) on Thursday, November 28, Typhoon Kammuri is located at approximately 11.9°N 138.8°E (map here) and is moving west-northwest at 10 kph (6 mph). The storm has maximum sustained winds of 120 kph (76 mph) and is expected to intensify through Tuesday, December 3. Kammuri may make landfall in eastern parts of the country by Tuesday morning.
