Afghanistan: 6.1-magnitude earthquake hits southwest of Jurm December 20

The US Geological Survey recorded a 6.1-magnitude earthquake around 51 km (32 mi) southwest of Jurm (Badakhshan province) on Friday, December 20. The quake hit at around 16:10 (local time) at a depth of 210 km (130 mi). There were no immediate reports of injuries or significant infrastructure damage.

Aftershocks are possible in the affected area over the coming hours and days.
