Jetstar cancels over 100 flights due to weekend strike December 13-15; confirm flight status

As of Friday, December 13, Jetstar ground staff and pilots started a 72-hour strike, prompting the cancelation of over 100 domestic and international flights between Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15. The full list of canceled flights can be found here.

Further industrial action have been called by the Transport Workers Union (TWU) on Thursday, December 19.

The airline announced that customers travelling between December 13 and Friday, December 20, can request a full refund prior to flying.

Significant delays, modified timetables, and further flight cancelations are expected during the strikes.

Context

The Transport Workers Union (TWU) is calling for a 15 percent pay increase for pilots. Ground crew members are also demanding wage increases as well as 30 work hours guaranteed per week.
