Former Prime Minister Guillaume Soro is due to return to Côte d'Ivoire on Sunday, December 22, ahead of the October 2020 presidential elections in which he is a candidate of the newly-formed Generations and Peoples Solidarity (GPS) party. His supporters plan to gather at the Felix-Houphouet-Boigny International Airport (ABJ) starting from 12.00 (local time) to welcome him back.
A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions, including flight delays, are expected at ABJ on Sunday.
