The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a 6.8-magnitude earthquake approximately 205 km (127 mi) northwest of Saumlaki (Maluku province) on Wednesday, May 6. According to initial reports, the quake hit at 20:53 (local time) at a depth of 107 km (66 mi). No damages or associated disruptions were immediately reported in the area. No tsunami warning, watch, or advisory was immediately issued by the US Tsunami Warning System.
