Australia: Weather warning issued for Sydney (New South Wales) July 14

A severe weather warning has been issued for Sydney (New South Wales) on Tuesday, July 14, up to 20mm (0.8 in) of rain, and 60km/h (37 mph) winds are expected to hit the city. According to the Bureau of Metrology (BoM), damaging winds are expected in the coastal areas of New South Wales (NSW), resulting in potentially dangerous surfing conditions from Port Macquarie to Ulladulla. Winds of up to 100km/h (62 mph) could generate in parts of NSW including the Illawarra and Hunter regions. The weather warning is expected to continue until at least the weekend.

Individuals in New South Wales are advised to monitor local weather reports in the near term, adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, anticipate power and transportation disruptions, and avoid wading or driving through floodwater; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
