GNA activates border checkpoints between Ras Ajdir and Emshigag on July 4; further operations possible

The Chief of Staff of Libya's Border Guards, Major General Nouri Sharata, said on Saturday, July 4, that border checkpoints with Tunisia have started between Ras Ajdir and Emshigag. The Border Guard will be in charge of border checks to prevent fuel and human smuggling as well as illegal immigration. The measure comes after forces affiliated with the Government of National Accord (GNA) liberated the western region of the country from Haftar militias.
