Tropical Storm Gonzalo has weakened as it approaches Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday, July 25. However, the storm has traveled further southward than expected, and the islands will reportedly be more affected than previously forecast. A tropical storm warning is in effect for Tobago. Orange weather alerts are in place throughout Trinidad and Tobago, with the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) forecasting a 70 percent chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms for most of Saturday. As of 11:00 (local time), the storm was 90 km (55 miles) east of Trinidad, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph (40 mph). The storm is expected to remain small and to lose power as it heads over the Caribbean.

Heavy rainfall, flooding, rough seas, and high winds remain possible in parts of the Windward Islands.
