A large blaze engulfed much of the attorney general's office building in South Jakarta on Saturday evening, August 22. The blaze, which was reported at around 19:00 (local time), engulfed multiple floors of the six-storey building, located on Jl. Sultan Hasanudin Dalam. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, but some sources have suggested the incident may be linked to high-profile investigations taking place currently. Some 200 firefighters and 65 fire engines were called to the scene.

The fire is reportedly still cooling down as of Sunday, August 23, and therefore residual disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the fire, along with a heightened security presence.
