Informational

Event

A police operation that took place in the vicinity of an office building located on St. Laurent Boulevard in Montreal's Mile End area on Friday, November 13, has since been concluded following an announcement by police that no threat was found. Earlier images showed armed police surrounding the building, with unconfirmed social media reports stating that there was a hostage situation ongoing inside the premises; it is now thought that a hoax call was made to police, resulting in the operation. During the incident, the office building was evacuated and a search carried out by police. There were no reported injuries and an investigation into the incident is now underway.

Residual disruption to transport should be expected in the vicinity of the incident.

Advice

Those in Montreal are advised to monitor developments, avoid the area while the investigation is underway, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
