Iraq: Protest reported in Baghdad November 7

Event

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Baghdad on Saturday, November 7, in protest against the presence of US troops in Iraq. The protest took place at the entrance to the Baghdad International Zone (Green Zone), with security forces blocking access into the area.  

Further unrest over the issue is likely in the near term. Any demonstrations are likely to be accompanied by a heightened security presence and localized disruptions to transport.
