Event
Periods of reduced internet speeds and intermittent service outages have been reported in parts of the Philippines since late March 26. The disruptions have primarily impacted customers of PLDT, especially in central and southern parts of the country. According to PLDT, the issues have been caused by a problem with international undersea cable systems.
Users of PLDT and possibly other domestic internet service providers may continue to experience slow internet speeds and connectivity issues through at least March 27.
Advice
Plan for possible continued communication and business disruptions due to reduced bandwidth. Consider alternative modes of communication, such as satellite connections, for critical business operations.
