Police in Afrin, Aleppo Governorate have announced that they will close all entrances to the city 20:00-08:00 nightly through March 21 following a car bomb explosion along Jenderes Road late March 16. The closure coincides with the anniversary of Operation Olive Branch, Turkey's military operation against the Syrian People's Protection Units (YPG) in 2018.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely throughout Afrin through March 21. Authorities could expand vehicle searches to other areas of Aleppo Governorate or impose further measures with little-to-no notice.

Afrin is located approximately 40 km (25 miles) northwest of Aleppo city.
