Georgia: Hostage situation ongoing at Bank of Georgia in Tbilisi April 16

Police in Tbilisi is responding to a security incident in Avlabari, Tbilisi, the afternoon of April 16. Initial reports suggest at least one gunman took hostages at the Bank of Georgia; all but one of the hostages have reportedly been released. Police have closed several roads in the vicinity, as well as Avlabari Metro Station, and related security measures could prompt localized disruptions in the coming hours.
