Five Catholic priests and two nuns were kidnapped in Croix-des-Bouquets April 11; two of the abductees are French citizens. According to police, a local gang called "400 Mawozo" carried out the abductions and has demanded a USD-1 million ransom payment. Croix-des-Bouquets is a township on the northeastern outskirts of Port-au-Prince.
