Officials in New Hampshire, US, to lift most restrictions May 8 due to low COVID-19 activity. Some travel restrictions remain.

Warning

Event

Officials in New Hampshire have issued orders to lift all business and gathering restrictions May 8, due to low levels of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations.

State authorities have replaced the long-standing Safer at Home required directives with the Universal Best Practices, a list of recommendations for businesses and individuals to follow. For more details on the plan, click here. Businesses are still allowed to implement more restrictive requirements within their establishments. The statewide facemask requirement has also been lifted, but several local governments maintain the use of a protective facemask as mandatory in public settings, including in Manchester, Nashua, Concord, Keene, and Portsmouth.

Travel Guidance
Individuals entering New Hampshire from international destinations must self-quarantine for 10 days upon arrival. Such travelers may reduce the quarantine to seven days by taking a COVID-19 test between six and seven days after arriving in the state and obtaining a negative result. Travelers entering from Canada for essential reasons, fully vaccinated individuals with more than 14 days since their final dose, and people who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the previous 90 and are fully recovered, are exempted from the quarantine.

State officials could extend, further ease, reimpose, or otherwise amend restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on the disease activity in the coming weeks.

Advice

Heed the directives of local authorities. Reconfirm all health-related travel requirements before travel. Confirm appointments in advance.
