Nigeria: Indefinite security-related curfew in place in parts of Abia State as of June 23
Curfew measures in place in parts of Abia State, Nigeria as of June 23, in response to continued insecurity.

Authorities in Abia State extended and revised an indefinite nightly curfew in parts of the state effective June 18 in response to continued insecurity in the area. As of June 23, the curfew is in place indefinitely, running from 22:00-06:00 in Aba and Umuahia. In Arochukwu, Bende, Ohafia and Umunneochi Local Government Areas (LGAs) the measure will be in place from 20:00-06:00.
Authorities will almost certainly deploy an increased security presence to ensure adherence; localized transport and commercial disruptions are likely. Locals opposed to the measure may stage protests; police will likely move forcefully to disperse any such gatherings that may materialize.
