Puerto Rico to further ease COVID-19 measures effective June 7 as case numbers remain low.

Warning

Event

Authorities in Puerto Rico have issued orders to further ease the territory's COVID-19-related restrictions. Effective June 7, bars and nightclubs will be allowed to reopen and capacity limits will be increased for businesses already in operation. Most businesses will continue to be allowed to operate 05:00-23:59; restaurants may operate beyond 23:59, but only for deliveries and order pickups. Establishments such as pharmacies and gas stations may also operate without time constraints, though alcohol sales are prohibited after 23:59. Officials have raised capacity restrictions for most businesses in enclosed spaces to 75 percent, although bars and nightclubs will operate at 50 percent; no capacity limits are in place for outdoor spaces. Social distancing and mask-wearing requirements continue to apply in most business settings indoors. Mask use outdoors is recommended for non-vaccinated individuals only.

International Travel
While Puerto Rico's borders have reopened to all travelers, arriving passengers must wear protective face coverings and will be subject to enhanced health screenings and protocols. Travelers must present a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival or prove that they are fully vaccinated. Those arriving without such documentation can either be tested at the airport or within 48 hours of arrival; they must remain in quarantine at their own expense while awaiting the results. Travelers who test positive for COVID-19 will be subject to a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine at their own expense.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
