Afghanistan: Explosion reported in northwest Kabul's Police District 11 late July 1

An explosion has occurred in or near a traffic circle in northwest Kabul's Sarai -E- Shamali area, along the border of Police District (PD) 11 and PD 17, late July 1. Authorities say the blast was apparently caused by an explosive device attached to a vehicle. At least one person was injured, although casualty figures may be revised upward in the coming hours. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely in the area in the coming hours as investigations continue.
