Greenland: Authorities tighten domestic COVID-19 restrictions July 20 /update 13
Greenland tightens domestic COVID-19 restrictions July 20; international entry restrictions remain in effect.
Event
Authorities in Greenland tightened domestic COVID-19 restrictions July 20 due to an increase in infections. Only individuals who have received at least one dose of a vaccine against COVID-19 are permitted to use public transport and gatherings are limited to 20 people. Nonessential businesses are permitted to operate provided they implement strict hygiene and social distancing requirements. Facemasks are mandatory in enclosed public spaces and outdoor public spaces where social distancing of 2 meters (6.5 feet) cannot be maintained.
International Entry Restrictions
All permitted arrivals to Greenland must complete a personal location form (Sumut form) before departure for Greenland and produce a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before departure for the territory. For the personal location form (Sumut form), click here.
No further restrictions apply to vaccinated travelers. Non-vaccinated travelers must self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival, though this period may be ended early following a negative test no less than five days after arrival. During the self-isolation period, individuals may not participate in private or public gatherings but may shop for essential items, including groceries, if avoiding rush hours and wearing a protective face covering.
Any restrictions may be extended or amended with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
