Two explosions occurred in the Police District (PD) 1 area of Ghazni city Aug. 10. The blasts, which were reported in the Kolah Sabz area of PD 1, were caused by a mortar round and a landmine detonating. At least three people were killed and 21 others wounded; officials will likely update information on casualties in the coming hours. The explosion occurred amid ongoing fighting between the Taliban and government forces in and near the city. No group immediately claimed responsibility for blasts.
Heightened security, as well as localized ground travel disruptions, are likely near the blast site in the coming hours.
