Authorities have downgraded Xinyuanxiyuan Community, Pudong District, to a low-risk area as of Aug. 17 following the end of a 14-day enhanced restriction period. Officials declared the district a medium-risk area and placed it on lockdown Aug. 2 following the discovery of community COVID-10 cases. With the latest policy, all parts of Shanghai are now under the low-risk designation.

The local government will continue to enforce other health protocols, such as the mandatory use of facemasks and gathering restrictions, in the city. Some transport and business disruptions may continue to occur in Shanghai due to ongoing health controls.
