Members of pro-government activist groups, including the Young Communist League (Union de Jovenes Comunistas, UJC), have called for a caravan rally in Havana, Aug. 5. Participants will gather at Torreon de la Chorrera from 09:00 and then march to Parque 13 de Marzo, through the Malecon esplanade.
Localized business and travel disruptions, as well as heightened security, are likely near the rally. While the gathering is likely to proceed peacefully, counterdemonstrations and isolated clashes remain possible.
