Greenland: Authorities maintaining COVID-19 restrictions as of Aug. 4 /update 14

Greenland maintaining COVID-19 restrictions as of Aug. 4; domestic controls and international entry restrictions remain in place.

Critical

Event

Authorities in Greenland are maintaining measures imposed to combat the spread of COVID-19 as of Aug. 4. Since July 31, evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken in the previous 48 hours has been required to access a number of facilities in Greenland, including catering establishments, cultural venues, sports facilities, and personal care services. Tighter restrictions, including a ban on gatherings of more than 20 people, are in place in some regions with higher numbers of infections.

International Entry Restrictions
All permitted arrivals to Greenland must complete a personal location form (Sumut form) before departure for Greenland and produce a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken in a Nordic country no more than 48 hours before departure for the territory. For the personal location form (Sumut form), click here.

No further restrictions apply to vaccinated travelers. Travelers who are not fully vaccinated must self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival, though this period may be ended early following receipt of a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no earlier than the fifth day after arrival. During the self-isolation period, individuals may not participate in private or public gatherings but may shop for essential items, including groceries, if avoiding rush hours and wearing a protective face covering.

Any restrictions may be extended or amended with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
