Greenland: Authorities tighten COVID-19 related international entry restrictions as of Aug. 10 /update 15

Greenland tightens COVID-19 related international entry restrictions as of Aug. 10; domestic restrictions remain in effect

Critical

Event

Authorities in Greenland have tightened international entry restrictions imposed to combat the spread of COVID-19 as of Aug. 10. All non-residents must now present proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in addition to a negative PCR test taken in the 48 hours prior to departure to Greenland; all unvaccinated non-residents are barred from entry. Unvaccinated residents may enter with a negative PCR test taken in the previous 48 hours but must quarantine for 14 days on arrival; quarantine can be ended early following a negative COVID-19 test on day five of quarantine. All arrivals must fill complete a personal location form (Sumut form) before departure for Greenland, available here.

Domestic Restrictions
Evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken in the previous 48 hours has been required to access a number of facilities in Greenland, including catering establishments, cultural venues, sports facilities, and personal care services. Tighter restrictions, including a ban on gatherings of more than 20 people, are in place in some regions with higher numbers of infections.

Any restrictions may be extended or amended with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
