Luxembourg: Authorities maintaining COVID-19 restrictions as of Aug. 12 /update 21

Authorities are maintaining measures imposed to combat the spread of COVID-19 as of Aug. 12. Travelers from countries within the EEA and Schengen Area and residents of Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei. Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Ukraine, the US, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan are permitted to enter Luxembourg. Most travelers from other countries remain prohibited, though exceptions exist for essential work, study, and family reasons.

Luxembourg requires all incoming international air travelers to present documentation before boarding proving that they have either received a full course of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), have recovered from COVID-19 in the previous six months, or have tested negative for COVID-19 by PCR test in the previous 72 hours or by antigen test in the previous 48 hours.

Stricter entry requirements are in place for individuals who have stayed in India in the preceding 14 days. All such travelers must submit to a COVID-19 test on arrival and quarantine for seven days before taking a second COVID-19 test. Individuals refusing to take either test must quarantine for 14 days.

Domestic Restrictions
Nonessential businesses and entertainment venues are permitted to operate, provided they adhere to strict social distancing requirements. Catering establishments are permitted to serve four people per table indoors and 10 people per table outdoors. Private gatherings of up to 10 people are permitted; public gatherings of up to 300 people are permitted. Facemasks are mandatory in enclosed public spaces and at gatherings of more than 10 people. Less stringent measures are in place for individuals who possess a CovidCheck certificate issued by Luxembourg authorities confirming they are either vaccinated against, recovered from, or recently tested negative for COVID-19.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
