The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado warning for Lynchburg, northwestern Campbell County, and southeastern Bedford County, Virginia, effective until at least 18:00 EDT Aug. 17. Damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning, heavy rain, and flash flooding are possible.

The weather warning could be extended or expanded at short notice.
