Haiti: US Embassy warns of planned protest in Port-au-Prince Sept. 26

The US Embassy issued a warning for a protest march in Port-au-Prince beginning 10:00 Sept. 26. The reason for the protest is unclear. According to the warning, demonstrators will gather at Place Constitution and march along John Brown Avenue, Martin Luther King Avenue, Delmas Main Road, Delmas 33 Road, Gerard Toedart Avenue, Toussaint Louverture Avenue, and 15 October Boulevard, ending at the US Embassy building.

Heightened security is likely at all protests. Clashes between protesters and security forces are likely if demonstrators are unruly or if they ignore police orders to disperse. Ground travel disruptions are likely near all security force deployments and protests.
