Informational

Event

Authorities will dispose of an unexploded World War-II era bomb in Mulheim, approximately 9 km (5.5 miles) east of Duisberg, the afternoon of Oct. 7. The device was discovered at Hansbergstrasse in the Winkhausen area. Authorities intend to implement a 500-meter (1,650-foot) security cordon around the device from 15:30 to facilitate the disposal operation.

Traffic and movement within the security cordon will be restricted, public transport normally routed through the area will be canceled or diverted; the A40 motorway will be closed to traffic from 16:00. Authorities have not provided an estimate for when the security cordon will be lifted.

Advice

Avoid the area until authorities give the all-clear. Check public transport schedules and local traffic conditions for disruptions before travel; plan alternative routes if necessary.
