Activists affiliated with several organizations, including the Teachers' Federation of Puerto Rico (Federacion de Maestros de Puerto Rico, FMPR), plan to hold a protest outside the Capitol of Puerto Rico in San Juan to oppose a debt adjustment bill. The bill will be debated by members of Puerto Rico's Legislative Assembly on Oct. 26. Demonstrators intend to gather around the Capitol starting at 15:00.

Hundreds are likely to participate in the rally, which may extend for several hours. Similar protests in the coming days are possible. Heightened security is likely, and clashes between demonstrators and police cannot be ruled out. Disruptions in the vicinity of the Capitol are likely to occur.
