Warning

Event

Greenland is maintaining tightened domestic measures in some areas to combat the spread of COVID-19 as of Nov. 29. In Nuuk, Sisimiut, and Upernavik, all individuals over the age of 12 must present proof of vaccination to access public spaces including catering establishments, cultural institutions, sports venues, leisure facilities, and all nonessential stores; children between 2 and 12 years of age need not be vaccinated but must present a positive test result between 14 days and 12 weeks old. Grocery stores, post offices, pubic offices, airports, and transport hubs may be accessed without proof of vaccination. All people over the age of 12 must wear a face mask in public. Additionally, all individuals must be fully vaccinated in order to travel from Nuuk or Upernavik to other areas of Greenland, while unvaccinated individuals traveling from Sisimiut to another location in Greenland must quarantine for 14 days on arrival; quarantine can be ended early following a negative COVID-19 test on day five of quarantine. Transport crews, children under the age of 12, and persons leaving the country are exempt from this measure. These enhanced restrictions are in effect through at least Nov. 30 in Sisimiut and through at least Dec. 5 in Nuuk and Upernavik.

Other measures remain in place nationwide. Evidence of vaccination against, recovery from, or recently testing negative for COVID-19 is required to access several facilities, including catering establishments, cultural venues, sports facilities, and personal care services. People who have recovered from COVID-19 are considered to be fully vaccinated.

International Entry Restrictions
Entry is permitted for vaccinated or recovered individuals; other travelers are only permitted to enter if they are residents. All permitted arrivals must present a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before departure. Unvaccinated residents must quarantine for 14 days on arrival; quarantine can be ended early following a negative COVID-19 test taken on day five. Arrivals are no longer required to complete a personal location form before departure for Greenland.

Any restrictions may be extended or amended with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
