A magnitude-5.3 earthquake occurred in Papua New Guinea's Oro Province at around 07:36 Nov. 28. The epicenter was about 60 km (38 miles) south of Popondetta. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles) and moderate shaking was reported in parts of Central and Oro provinces, including in Port Moresby. There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake.
