Greenland: Authorities amend COVID-19 restrictions as of Dec. 6 /update 21
Greenland amends COVID-19 measures as of Dec. 6; domestic and international entry restrictions remain in effect.
Event
Authorities in Greenland have amended measures introduced to combat the spread of COVID-19 as of Dec. 6.
International Entry Restrictions
Entry is permitted for vaccinated or recovered individuals; other travelers are only permitted to enter if they are residents. As of Dec. 6, all permitted arrivals must present a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before departure; previously, tests were accepted up to 72 hours before departure. Unvaccinated residents must quarantine for 14 days on arrival; quarantine can be ended early following a negative COVID-19 test.
Domestic Restrictions
Evidence of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19, or a negative test taken in the previous 48 hours, is required to access most nonessential businesses. The same is also required for travel between regions or cities in Greenland; individuals unable to meet these requirements must isolate for 14 days on arrival or following a negative COVID-19 test during this period. Facemasks are mandatory in all public spaces in areas where cases of COVID-19 have been detected. Gatherings of more than 20 people are prohibited in Upernavik.
Any restrictions may be extended or amended with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
