Hundreds of activists have gathered outside the Grand Husseini Mosque in downtown Amman early afternoon Dec. 3 to protest the importation of Israeli water into Jordan. A similar demonstration took place in the same location Nov. 26.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near Grand Husseini Mosque over the coming hours. Although widespread violence is unlikely, clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.
