Warning

Event

As of Jan. 12, authorities in Jordan have kept the country's COVID-19-related domestic measures and international travel restrictions largely unchanged as compared to those that were in place in late November.

Domestic Measures
The Jordanian government is not currently enforcing COVID-19-related curfew measures. Businesses in most sectors can generally operate at full capacity; however, restrictions are still in effect for wedding halls, theaters, exhibits, and festivals. Social distancing of 1.5 meters (5 feet) is required outside the home. Wearing a facemask is mandatory in indoor public spaces, including on public transport. Unvaccinated private-sector workers must submit a PCR test every Sunday and Thursday; businesses in violation of this regulation may be subject to closure.

International Travel Restrictions
Foreign nationals traveling from or who have been in Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, or Zimbabwe in the last 14 days are prohibited from entering or transiting Jordan. Flights from these countries are suspended. Jordanian travelers who have visited one of these countries within the last 14 days are subject to a 14-day quarantine period at the airport hotel.

All individuals traveling to Jordan via air and land and those transiting Jordan must have a negative result from a PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure for the country. Additionally, travelers to Jordan must complete a "Travel to Jordan Declaration Form" before travel and present the generated quick response (QR) code before boarding their flight and upon arrival; to access the form, click here.

Travelers to Jordan must also complete a passenger health declaration form before travel. To access the passenger health declaration form, click here.

Furthermore, foreign nationals must obtain health/travel insurance valid for the period of their stay in the country, and all arriving travelers must download the AMAN mobile application to their mobile device.

Arriving travelers are subject to a PCR test upon arrival at their own expense; those testing positive must quarantine for at least 14 days and take a PCR test on the 14th day of the isolation period. Transiting travelers who test positive at the airport may be required to quarantine at the airport hotel at their own expense. Children under the age of five are exempt from the testing requirements and completing the Travel to Jordan Declaration Form.

To enter Aqaba, individuals must have either received their first dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine more than 21 days before arrival or have a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arriving in the city.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements before departing for Jordan. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays.
