Authorities in El Salvador maintain minimal COVID-19-related measures as of Feb. 14

Warning

Event

Authorities in El Salvador are maintaining limited measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 as of Feb. 14.

Domestic Measures
Businesses are allowed to continue operating without capacity restrictions. Some permitted major events, including sports events, can require those attending to present either proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test result.

Authorities recommend that all individuals wear a protective facemask in public settings. All businesses must enhance sanitation procedures, ensure compliance with social distancing measures, and promote the use of facemasks by employees.

International Travel Restrictions
There are no testing or vaccination requirements for travelers to El Salvador. However, certain health protocols and screenings remain in place at airports, including temperature checks, requirements on wearing facemasks, and social distancing. Persons showing symptoms of infection may be subject to a period of quarantine at authorities' discretion.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further tighten, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements.
