Over 20 teachers' unions, including the Public Education Teachers Union (SIMEDUCO), have planned a protest march in San Salvador Feb. 4. The purpose of the demonstration is to demand pension reform, among resolutions to other grievances. Protesters will gather at 08:00 at the Salvador del Mundo monument before marching to the Presidential Palace. Although organizers have not announced the specific march route, demonstrators will probably move along Alameda Manuel Enrique Araujo, causing significant disruptions. The protest will likely be well attended.

Localized transport and business disruptions are likely in affected areas Feb. 4. Police will almost certainly deploy to monitor the event; clashes between officers and protesters cannot be ruled out.
