The Citizens Coalition for Change party plans to hold a rally in Harare Feb. 20. The rally is scheduled to begin 11:00 at the Zimbabwe Grounds and is scheduled to end 16:00. The event will kick off the party's campaign for the March 26 by-election. Due to fears of political violence, local police have restricted participants from chanting slogans or the participation of individuals from other constituencies.
Police will almost certainly deploy to monitor the gathering. The event is also likely to disrupt ground travel and, possibly, business operations in the area. While significant clashes are unlikely, some confrontations may occur.
