A magnitude-5.1 earthquake occurred off the coast of Japan's Iwate Prefecture at around 07:29 JST March 5. The epicenter was about 152 km (94 miles) east of Miyako, Japan. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles), and light shaking may have been felt in northern Honshu.
