Travelers to Lebanon no longer required to take PCR test upon arrival at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) as of March 3.

Warning

Event

Lebanese authorities have recently eased the country's COVID-19-related international travel restrictions. As of March 3, individuals traveling to Lebanon are no longer required to take a PCR test at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) upon arrival. Lebanon's other COVID-19-related international travel restrictions and domestic measures have remained largely unchanged since Feb. 15.

Domestic Measures
Individuals must present proof of having received at least one shot of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine or a negative result from a PCR test taken within the previous 48 hours to enter restaurants, hotels, and tourism-sector establishments. Moreover, those who do not meet one of these conditions are subject to a nightly 19:00-06:00 curfew. All establishments are limited to operating at 50 percent capacity. Wearing a facemask is required in all public spaces, including in vehicles unless traveling alone. Taxis and private cars are limited to transporting a maximum of four people, including the driver. Buses may transport up to 50 percent of the vehicle's capacity.

International Travel Restrictions
All individuals traveling to Lebanon, except for children under the age of 12 and members of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), must register on the MOPH PASS platform to obtain an MOPH PASS. To access the MOPH PASS platform, click here.

Individuals who are fully vaccinated and who have received a second or third shot of a COVID-19 vaccine, or a single dose as part of a one-shot COVID-19 vaccine, within the last six months may enter Lebanon without a negative result from a pre-travel COVID-19 test. Additionally, travelers who have left Lebanon and will return to the country within one week are exempt from taking a PCR or rapid antigen test before their return flight to Lebanon.

All other travelers (e.g., unvaccinated travelers), except for children under the age of 12, must upload a negative result from either a PCR test taken within 48 hours before departure or a rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours before travel to the MOPH PASS platform. The generated quick response (QR) code should be presented to authorities upon arrival at BEY.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements before departure for Lebanon. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions. Reconsider and reconfirm nonemergency health appointments.
